Cricket Australia has dropped the schedule for the upcoming Summer of Cricket later this year and we are being fed well!

26 matches will be held over 11 cities as Australia goes up against all its biggest rivals; South Africa, India and England. With some major changes to the teams on the horizon it’ll be a Summer to watch as both the men and women are tested against their toughest competitors in what might be the spark of a period of change for the Aussies.

South Africa Men – The Men’s side will be facing off against their upcoming World Test Championship rivals in a T20 & ODI series. This will be the first time the countries will see each other after the upcoming WTC happening later this year. The ODI side now going without one of its key performers as Steve Smith has chosen to move on from the ODI format of the game to focus on his test and t20 performance.

India Men – The Australian Men may have walked away from the Border-Gavaskar this year with a victory under the belt and a trophy in the cabinet, but the series was far from a rollover. With arguably the world’s best pace bowler, Bumrah, back in the side after his lower back injury at the end of the series. The Aussies will have to stare down one of their biggest nightmares. The King himself, Virat Kohli, also mentioned recently in an interview with Fox Sports that he “may not have another Australian tour again in four years” referring to the next test series in Australia. However, if retirement from international play is on his mind, this upcoming ODI/T20 tour in Australia may be the last time we see Virat Kohli face off against Australia on our turf.

England Men – The England test squad return to Australia for the much-anticipated return of The Ashes Test Series. The last time the Australian side faced off against the poms in the Ashes was over in the UK in 2023, a series that sparked just a bit of controversy. Between the Bairstow stumping at Lords, three MCC members being suspended for abusive language, and a large debate on “the spirit of the game” things between the Aussies and the English have been left a bit tense. The Aussies may have the homefield advantage now and with the trophy currently in our collection the poms will have a lot against them, but the Poms have always been a fiery contest for the Aussies.

India Women – The Australian Women are also set to go head-to-head with the Indian Women’s side in a series that will feature all formats of the game with T20’s, ODI’s and finishing with a Test Match at the WACA. After the massively successful Ashes series earlier this year in which Australia dominated the English side, Alyssa Healy will be looking to show a similar display of play and show the Cricketing World that the Aussie Women’s side are the best on earth.
