Wheel of Fortune is making a comeback to Australia, but there’s a twist…
The popular game show was last seen on Australian screens back in 2008 when it aired on Channel 7 under the name ‘Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune’ with Tim Campbell as the host. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after just a month due to poor ratings.
The revival of Wheel of Fortune comes with an unexpected location change. Instead of being filmed in Australia, the show will now be produced in the United Kingdom, with none other than the fabulous Graham Norton taking on the role of host.
Norton, known for his quick wit and charm, is no stranger to game show hosting as he already helms the UK version of Wheel of Fortune and also hosts his own wildly popular talk show, The Graham Norton Show.
As the production gears up for the brand new season, they are on the lookout for Aussies currently residing in the UK. So, if you’re an Aussie expat eager to get in on the action or know someone who might be interested, the show is now taking contestant applications here.
While an official announcement on the network that will air the revived version is yet to be made, TV Blackbox reports that Australia’s Wheel of Fortune is likely to showcase series of primetime specials next year.
It’s time to brush up on our puzzle-solving skills and get ready to spin that iconic wheel once again!
