A TV Series based on the 2000’s action/adventure film is being developed at Amazon. Based on the book of the same name by Wang Dulu, the show will be penned by Jason Ning who is set to be both a writer and executive producer.
The original films by Ang Lee saw great commercial and critical success, even earning a 10 Academy Award nominations. No details have really been disclosed yet other than that the series will look to adapt the events that unfolded across the entire series, known as the Crane Iron Pentalogy, not just the first book. Only real juicy bit of information that has been released is the series’ official logline:
“Amidst stunning landscapes and spectacular action, ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ follows Shu Lien and Mu Bai, two star-crossed warriors, as they struggle between forbidden love and the pull of modernity — caught between preserving their way of life or embracing a future together.”
