The Tathra Lions Club has been contributing to Tathra and the surrounding area for five decades.
This Sunday, February 11, from 11-2pm in Tathra’s Taylor Square, the Tathra Lions will take the community on a journey over those past 50 years, with the entire community invited.
Activities will include a mystery bus tour departing every 30 minutes from 11am to 1.30pm; a vintage car display; Brett’s Amazing Dogs taking on new feats in high jumps; free face painting for the kids and young ones at heart; and live music courtesy of the Bega Brass Band. In true Lion’s spirit there will be a free sausage sizzle.
The display tent will showcase all the work that the Tathra Lion’s has undertaken over the course of 50 years.
“It’s a staggering amount of hours the members have put in – hard to put an exact number on – but thought to be over one million voluntary hours,” a Tathra Lions Spokesperson said.
“If you have an idea for future projects that the community is in need of, then come and have a chat with the members, they’re always keen to hear suggestions and discuss them.
