A 53-year-old Broulee man has been arrested and charged after police linked him to multiple burnout offences in Tomakin and Moruya.
The alleged incidents occurred in October 2024 and January 2025.
The man’s vehicle has been seized for three months, and his driver’s licence suspended. He has been bailed to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on February 17.
Chief Inspector of Batemans Bay Police, John Sheehan, condemned the behaviour, warning it poses significant risks to both pedestrians and other road users.
“Hoon behaviour such as this will never be tolerated,” Sheehan said.
“Police will use every resource to locate offenders and seize vehicles.”
The arrest is part of a broader crackdown on reckless driving on the South Coast, with authorities pledging to take tough measures against offenders to ensure road safety.
