Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick has welcomed the findings of new research showing the Bega Valley as one of the most popular places in the state to relocate to.
The latest data from the Regional Australia Institute ranks the LGA third on the list behind Wingacarabee and Richmond Valley.
Councillor Fitzpatrick said he’s not surprised at all.

“We’ve known for a while that the population has grown higher than the growth rate stated by NSW Planning and the NSW Government,” he said.
“We know by the childcare shortfall numbers and everything else that we know we are growing a lot quicker than they say.”
