Dalmeny snowboarding sensation Valentino Guseli has finished 4th in the Big-Air World Cup Final in Kreischberg on Saturday night, taking out the Crystal Globe as the overall Big-Air World Cup Champion of the season.
Guseli’s crystal globe win, is the first ever for an Australian, in a big-air World Cup competition.
Anna Gasser and Taiga Hasegawa took the respective women’s and men’s victories in Saturday night’s event but it was Reira Iwabuchi and Guseli that walked away as this season’s big air crystal globe winners.
Guseli was crowned the overall Men’s Big Air Champion, with 1st, 4th, 6th and 11th place results this season.
FIS Snowboarding described it as “Without a doubt, the greatest World Cup big air competition of all time, and an epic end to the 2022/23 big air World Cup season.”
Guseli’s mum Kristen Guseli shared her son’s achievement on Facebook stating “I’m so proud right now! Well done Zub. You deserve this!”
Also competing in Austria, Tess Coady narrowly missed out on a spot in the Women’s final, placing 9th, with fellow Aussie Meila Stalker close behind in 13th.
