The Rural Fire Service has issued a reminder to local resident that rules still apply to lighting fires along the Far South Coast during the cooler months.
The official bushfire season ended at midnight with more than 500 jobs for local brigades over the past six months in a fairly benign spring and summer period.
RFS Far South Coast Operations Manager, Superintendent Marc Donnelly said a minimum 24 hour’s notice must be given to your local fire shed or fire control centre and impacted neighbours.
