Construction underway on new health facility

A silky oak tree has been planted at the site of a new community health facility on the Far South Coast.

The ceremony yesterday marking the official start of construction of the $20 million project next to Batemans Bay Hospital.

Parliamentary Secretary for Health Michael Holland said the centre will offer a wide range of frontline health services including:

  • Child, youth and family services
  • Women’s health
  • Sexual health
  • Community nursing and wound management
  • Palliative care
  • Aboriginal health
  • Community mental health and drug & alcohol
  • Specialist outpatient clinics
  • Pathology

It is due for completion in 2026.
