Ex-Eurobodalla Shire Mayor, Liz Innes, has been sentenced after pleading guilty to drug cultivation charges for $250,000 worth of marijuana plants found at her property at Runnyford, west of Batemans Bay.
The 54-year-old faced Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, February 27 for sentencing after earlier pleading guilty to cultivating a prohibited plant in Moruya Local Court on February 10.
On Sunday February 5, NSW Police Officers found and subsequently seized 76 plants growing in pots, garden beds and tree stumps at her Runnyford property.
Magistrate, Doug Dick, imposed a $4000 fine and a two-year community corrections order, including conditions that Ms Innes abstain from using illicit drugs and enter a drug and alcohol treatment program and a mental health program.
